Born in Hanoi on February 3, 1954, Jean-François Desjacques is a member of the Azerbaijan lobby in France.
Claiming in some articles to be a photographer (notably in interviews relating to chef Christian Leroy's “clandestine dinners” during confinement, in which he admits to having participated), he actually began his career as a director with the public works company Société Auxiliaire d'Entreprises, before moving into the international hotel business from 1993.
In 2000, Jean-François Desjacques became an advisor to the ultra-rich on real estate acquisition strategies and institutional relations, through his Swiss family office Eastinwest SA. In 2006, he was featured in the Russian edition of Forbes, devoted to the 100 richest people in Russia.
Jean-François Desjacques has worked extensively in Russia. It was undoubtedly through this that he met his wife, Anna Konchakova, with whom he set up Emotional Investments Group SA in Switzerland in 2013, whose corporate purpose is described as “offering first-class concierge services [...], including hotel reservations in luxury hotels and palaces, VIP access and organization of various events, shows and happenings, search and rental of prestige vehicles [...], communication activities, [...] sale, purchase, rental and brokerage of real estate”.
Apart from Russia, the company does a lot of business in Dubai, where it has offices, but also with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), of which Azerbaijan is a member. And although, no doubt for business reasons, Jean-François Desjacques travels to many other embassies in France, it is remarkable that in 2023 alone, he visited the Azerbaijani embassy at least 3 times, including on February 3 for the General Meeting of the Association des Amis de l'Azerbaïdjan.
This is no coincidence, since Azerbaijan is far from being an unknown country for Jean-François Desjacques and his wife: between 2015 and 2019, their company Emotional Investments Group had a managing partner there for local activities, a certain Sergey Yelizarov. Note also that the Emotional Investments Group page on Instagram is followed by Laurent Poultier du Mesnil, vice-president of the Association Dialogue France-Azerbaïdjan, not to mention the fact that the company's website uses an image of Baku's Heydar Aliyev Center as illustration...
Very probably a member of the Association des Amis de l'Azerbaïdjan, since he was invited by Aytan Mouradova to the event commemorating the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev's birth in May 2023, Jean-François Desjacques remains discreet on this subject. His regular participation in events organized by Aliyev's envoys in France, and his communication around these occasions, contribute to polishing the image of the Azerbaijani dictatorship, and make Jean-François Desjacques a member of the Azerbaijani lobby in France.
Azerbaijan uses all available means and channels to silence its wars and crimes.
